Well I had Gowcaizer on my Neo Geo CD back in the day. Despite the fact that he only had about five minutes screentime in the OVA--and out of uniform at that--he was one of the better characters in the game. Way more fun to play as than the main guy.
Trashy? LMAO. Yeah, I had seen the anime way before I ever played the game. If I am not mistaken, the animation in game and definitely the character designs were created by Masami Ohbari, who of course was the director (animator) for the Fatal Fury animes. Fatal Fury of course being an SNK Neo Geo game. He went on to make a short, like three episode "one shot" series for Gowcaizer. Mostly only notable for it's massive and comically bouncing breasts. Seriously, this guy is probably responsible for all the rampant bouncing breasts that we see in games and anime today. He took Mai's line from Fatal Fury (the game) "me bouncy!" and ran with it in Fatal Fury the Motion Picture. Joe Maduria even said that his Battle Chasers character Red Monica was inspired by Mai Shiranui in the Fatal Fury MP.
I haven't seen the Gowcaizer anime in forever, although I have it on VHS (eww) I wish I could find it on DVD without having to order it. Ultimately I really don't recommend it, if it were easy to find and cheap, then maybe, but otherwise it isn't really worth the effort of ordering and waiting for it. It is just generic, uninteresting and boring. I mean a lot of the characters are pretty lame and generic for a fighting game, to put them in an anime really shows how weak it all is.
Anyway, Brider is in it, but he only appears in costume in the opening narrative. Dang, back in the day I had drawn a pic of Brider that I believe was pretty damn good for me in 98. It was for a friend though, I should ask him if I can make a scan of it. I know he's still got it.
Hahaha - well, I certainly appreciate the random trivia.
I dare say I would be one of the very few people on Earth with any reason to maybe track this junk down. I think I'll scope around for it... they can't be charging too much for this sort of thing, surely!

Sadly, our little conversation made me pick it up. Bought it used from a user at Amazon for around $20 USD. Not bad...the price I mean. This animator makes a hentai now called Angel Blade. If you are buying it for the boobage, might want to pick that up instead.

About all I'd want from that would be a few seconds of Brider footage I could make into a new logo for my website.
